How Can a Margot Stern Strom Innovation Grant Help You?

Margot Stern Strom Innovation Grant

Part of challenging our students is challenging ourselves as educators. That’s why Facing History is excited to announce the 2017 Margot Stern Strom Innovation Grants. This year, we’re challenging you to think about how you can bring “hard empathy” into the classroom. You could be one of 12 educators to receive $2,500 to bring your project to life.

For 10 years these grants (named after our founder) have pushed educators to think outside the box and use our content in innovative and creative ways. So how can a Margot Stern Strom Innovation Grant help you? Hear how it inspired Jennifer Staysniak, a US history teacher at Mount Alvernia High School in Newton, Massachusetts, to push her students—and herself—to grow as individuals.

Do you have an idea for a great project on empathy? Submissions will be open from April 24 at 9:00 a.m. EST through May 5 at 9 p.m. EST. Make sure to check out our page and sign up for reminders about important dates so you don’t miss this great opportunity! And spread the word using #MSSInnovation!
